On June 5th, IWF Sister, Preeti Pande, co-hosted a conversation with Women Artists Art Week ambassador Alex Lane on the importance of patronage for women artists. Led by art advisor Spring McManus, the discussion featured contemporary artists Anastasia Samoylova, Antonia Wright, and Melissa Wallen.
This event was part of the WAAW (Women Artists and Allies Worldwide) initiative, which supports female artists and promotes gender equality in the global art market. WAAW highlights the contributions of women artists and encourages greater representation and recognition.
From June 1-8, partner galleries and institutions showcased exhibitions featuring female artists, marking the start of an annual celebration of women's contributions to the arts. This initiative emphasizes the need for visibility and support for female artists to foster a more inclusive and equitable art world. |
