Women on Corp Boards

IWF Florida continues to work with IWF Palm Beach and IWF Florida Suncoast, along with our partners at Women Corporate Directors (WCD) and 5050 Women on Boards, to increase the female representation on the boards of public companies.

Our efforts are in three areas:

Information – we held a statewide meeting in November to share the results of our Census of Women Public Company Directors. See the report Florida Census of Women Public Company Directors 2022 We have asked Florida public companies to:

- Add 50 more women to their boards by the end of 2023 including at least half (25) women of color
- Every company with fewer than three women board members to get to three women or gender-balanced boards as quickly as possible
- Double the number of gender-balanced boards, for a total of 16 Florida public companies
- Have NO companies with zero women on their boards

Outreach to corporations – We are very excited about moving the needle on female representation on the boards of public companies in Florida and with your help we know we can make this happen. Our request of you is to please look at the attached list of companies and let me know soon (ideally by mid-January) if you have a personal relationship with anyone in the C-suite or on the Board of any company with two or fewer female board members. If so, a Committee member will reach out to you to coordinate your making an introduction for us with that person so that we can discuss their board evolution and ask how we can help.* See the list: Florida companies on the Russell 3000 .

Serving IWF members – we have many members that are interested in learning more about public company board service or winning their first board seat. We will hold a series of informative lunchtime Zoom meeting from 12 pm - 1 pm, on January 26, February 23, and March 23, in which experienced board members will share their experiences and insights on the process. Watch for the invitations! And, if you are interested in board training, whether you are a director or an aspiring director, we have put together a list of resources that will be helpful to you. We encourage you to check our website periodically for updates and events that we will be having throughout the year.
